Grammy winners The Civil Wars to play Skye Celtic Connections event
Published: 16th Mar 2012 00:10:07
Grammy award winners The Civil Wars are to perform at a two-day event being held on Skye as part of Glasgow's Celtic Connections music festival.
Rosanne Cash, daughter of Johnny Cash, will also appear in Broadford on 23-24 March.
Other acts include The Mavericks frontman Raul Malo.
The Skye music event will mark the finale to the Year of Scotland's Islands, a programme of celebrations which started in April last year.
The Civil Wars, US musicians Joy Williams and John Paul White, won best folk album and best country duo/group performance at this year's Grammy awards.
This year's main Celtic Connections festival took place in Glasgow in January and February.
