Trevor Elias: New appeal over missing Abertridwr man
Published: 7th May 2012 09:35:17
A new appeal for information has been made by Gwent Police on a 77-year-old man who has been missing for a month.
Trevor Elias has not been seen since leaving his home in Abertridwr, Caerphilly county, on Saturday, 7 April.
Posters and more than 1,000 leaflets have been distributed by residents in an attempt to find him.
A candle-lit vigil for him was attended by about 400 people in the village last month.
Mr Elias is described as 6ft (1.83m), of very thin build, and has brown short hair. He wears glasses but is said not to have had them on when last seen.
Insp Paul Staniforth of Gwent Police said: "We are continuing to conduct extensive inquiries to find Trevor.
"We are concerned for Trevor's welfare because of his age and the length of time he has been missing.
"We continue to work closely with the community, who have been particularly supportive and active in providing assistance in locating Trevor.
A Facebook page has been set up to help in the search for Mr Elias.
Police have conducted area searches with a helicopter and dogs, and they have also carried out their own social media campaign.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Gwent Police on 101.
