Scotland's 32 local authorities held elections on 3 May to decide the fate of more than 1,200 council seats.

Local authorities used the Single Transferable Vote (STV) system, where electors ranked candidates in order of preference. Given the proportional nature of this approach, most of Scotland's council have been left in no overall control.

Many of these newly elected representatives are now looking into creating power sharing deals.
