Sewage tanker crash blocks B4337 between Cross Inn and Llanrhystud
Published: 10th May 2012 17:32:03
A lorry tanker full of raw sewage has overturned, blocking a Ceredigion road.
It happened on the B4337 between Cross Inn and Llanrhystud near the Fantasy Farm Park (Parc Fferm Fantasi) attraction at 14:24 BST on Thursday.
The lorry turned over but the contents did not spill. Hydraulic fluid had leaked onto the road.
Diversions were put in place while a second tanker was being located to allow the sewage to be transferred and the overturned vehicle removed.
Southbound traffic was being advised to continue along the A487 to Aberarth, then east on the B4577 to rejoin the B4337 at Cross Inn.
Northbound traffic is to travel along the same route in reverse.
Fire crews from Aberystwyth and Aberaeron attended the scene.
