Published: 12th May 2012 15:39:51
The driver of a car which failed to stop after colliding with a motorcyclist is being sought by police.
The 29-year-old motorcyclist is "serious but stable" in hospital following the incident in Abertridwr, Caerphilly, at 23:30 BST on Friday.
Police say a silver Vauxhall Astra and a Honda CB 600 collided outside Quarry Garage, Graig Y Fedw.
The Astra driver failed to stop and anyone with information is urged to contact Gwent Police.
Police said the motorcyclist, from Abertridwr, is being treated at the University Hospital Wales, Cardiff.
The driver of the Vauxhall drove off towards Caerphilly.
The vehicle, described as being a newer model, was fitted with distinctive blue LED lights below the front number plate and is expected to have visible damage to the rear offside body panel.
Police have urged the driver, or anyone with information, to contact them.
