Homes evacuated in Lenzie after electricity substation fire

A number of houses have been evacuated following a fire at an electricity substation in East Dunbartonshire.
Emergency services were called to the site in Millersneuk Avenue, Lenzie, at about 09:20 on Monday.
Two fire appliances are on the scene, along with Strathclyde Police and Scottish Power engineers.
A spokeswoman for the Strathclyde force said no-one had been injured. She said about five homes near the substation had been evacuated as a precaution.
