Body recovered off Anglesey coast near Malltraeth
Published: 23rd May 2012 21:39:51
The body of man has been recovered from the sea off Anglesey by coastguards, say police.
North Wales Police said the body was spotted in water a quarter of a mile from Malltraeth on Wednesday afternoon, and brought ashore by the RNLI's Trearddur Bay inshore lifeboat.
Rescuers said the discovery is unconnected to an earlier search for a missing 61-year-old Conwy man.
Police said efforts were now being made to identify the person.
Lifeboat crews were called out to assist in recovering the body at 16:00 BST on Wednesday.
However, the incident is not being linked to the continuing search for Roger Wilyman, who was last seen leaving a Rhos-on-Sea restaurant bar on 18 May.
A car belonging to Mr Wilyman, who is from Llanfair Talhaiarn in Conwy, was later found at Trearddur Bay on Anglesey.
