Owen Hood jailed for raping man and boy in Ayr hotel
Published: 12th Jul 2012 16:47:46
A man has been jailed for six years for raping a boy and a man at knifepoint in two separate attacks in South Ayrshire.
Owen Hood, 43, was found guilty of raping the 12-year-old boy and 24-year-old man at a hotel in Ayr in 1994.
The High Court in Glasgow heard how both attacks happened within months of each other and the elder victim was left feeling suicidal.
As Hood was led from court after being sentenced, he yelled "scumbags" at his victims and their families.
Hood was convicted last month following a trial at the High Court in Kilmarnock.
The jury heard how he threatened each victim with a knife during two separate attacks.
His older victim, now 42, told the jury: "I felt threatened, scared and humiliated. I thought he was going to slit my throat. I prayed for him to stop."
Hood had claimed in evidence that both of the victims made up the allegations.
