Man, 19, arrested after stabbing in North Shields

A man has been arrested following the stabbing of a 16-year-old in North Shields.
The teenager was attacked in Nile Street, shortly after he left the Metro on Saturday evening.
A man, aged 19, from Wallsend has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.
The injured youth, who is believed to have suffered stab wounds to his back and chest, remains in hospital. His condition is described as stable.
