Drug trafficker has assets seized
Published: 2nd Aug 2010 12:45:03
James Miller, 52, from Renfrew, Renfrewshire, was part of a nine-strong gang which was jailed for a total of almost 50 years in 2008.
The trial at the High Court in Edinburgh heard how he was a major player in the supply of amphetamine in Renfrewshire, Ayrshire and Lanarkshire.
The same court gave Miller six months to pay the confiscation order.
The trial heard how police carried out a six-month surveillance operation - Operation Aquarius - as they targeted the gang in 2007.
Miller was stopped by police on the M8 motorway after a meeting and cash was seized.
He denied being concerned in the supply of the Class B drug amphetamine between March and October 2007 but was convicted of the offence.
